Whenever works of art has the opportunity to be reflective of life, it transcends it's resposibility to bring us pleasure and enters the realm of philosophy and the evolution of the human spirit. Being a practitioner of one of India's most ancient form's of meditation, Vipassana, Australian artist Gil Bruvel created these sculptures he calls The Mask Series. Each of the variegated sculptures depicts a face in a meditative state.

Italian artist Edoardo Tresoldi has created what he hopes to become a regional landmark in one of Europe's largest public spaces. The permanent public art installation is located in Calabria, Italy. It sits on Reggio Calabria's seafront. Titled "Opera" the large wire-mesh creation is comprised of 48 pillars standing at eight meters in a 2,500 square-meter park. Light and shadows dance throughtout the installation during the day, the pillars are almost completely transparent juxtaposed against the surrounding nature. Take a look.

Encinitas, California based photographer Tim Tadder and his collaborative team call this "Nothing To See." "NOTHING TO SEE represents our new normal, the cradling comfort of lies and assaults on freedom of speech, civil rights, and one another," as noted on their website.

Codicis is a Latin word that couldn't quite nail down the definition. Translated into English is it 'code' or 'codex'. However the art collective that coordinated their efforts to create this photo series decided to title the collection Codicis. Milan-based film-maker and photographer Riccardo Torri alongside photo retoucher Sara Mancini took the headpieces of  Giuseppe Fata and the outcome is a very poignant collection. The images were shot by advertising photographer Kareem El Sabaa with assistance from photo stylist Basma Shalaby. The two are based out of Cairo, Egypt, where each hold respectable titles in their respective fields. The series of frames were captured for Pepermint Lounge and I am sure they will serve their advertising and marketing efforts well. They are fun and composed with just enough blend of being serious and seriously needing a drink.
