Ok... In the nightlife arena, the contest is over atmosphere. It's the venue that delivers the best overall experience that will ultimately win. Light Nightclub seems to deliver. If you are like me, entering a nightclub usually sets the pace for the night or morning. The wavy-tunnel design idea for the entrance create an experience unto itself. Once inside, the hexagonal decor and the paneling are transformative. Even the use of the laboratory is stellar due to the many lights reminiscent of space. I would suggest visiting if you happen to be in Mexico. Designed by Tamen Arq, the space is guaranteed to be as impressive as the DJ.

With the impression of motion, The Passenger coffee/rock bar is titled fittingly. The Madrid, Spain establishment resembles a moving train with a retro-dining atmosphere full of leather, dark woods and brass accouterments. The 150-seat venue is a rock bar at night and coffee bar during daylight. The three windows of the main seating area are actually synchronized video screens offering the vision of passing landscapes. The Passenger is located in the hip neighborhood of Malasana called Triball, is owned by young Spanish actors Rodrigo Taramona and Jimmy Castro and was deigned by creative director, producer and designer Parilio. Take the time to step into another time period without the Delorean.

"The name, Yu," says Kokai Studios architects, "is a classical Chinese character which symbolizes elegance and exclusivity. It is the inspiration of the design to combine nostalgic touches and contemporary decor, blending traditional Chinese design with western romance." I enjoyed this quote so much, I needed not view the impressive images I knew would accompany these words. The Yu Bar occupies the 28th and 29th floors, as a glass pavilion, on the Marriott Hotel in Shanghai, China.
