Another restless night. Uncontrolled thoughts alert me to unforeseeable concerns; good spirits do nothing to curtail these passionate thoughts that could easily double as paranoia. Across my flatscreen, talks of love, ideas about devotion and the temptations of perceived evil play out through the telling of true life stories. The effects of career choices, the joys of life and one’s life passion also find airtime during an episode of House of Lies. Of course this gets my already overactive mind entertaining the very same topics. Thankfully I have a South Australian angel here to indulge me a bit.

Kayy Dawn is… different. Not quite like Two Chains or Lady Gaga, she isn’t entertainingly different, she is fundamentally different; seriously a pear in a bowl of apples. In Angels Playpen, difference is praised; character a blessing, uniqueness heavenly. It’s almost become sort of a religion, a set of practices that embraces freedom of thought, actively repels negativity, vigorously spreads love and judges nothing and no one. ‘Do You!’ we suggest emphatically, you need not concern yourself with the actions of other unless they threaten the balance of our world. What makes Kayy Dawn different? “My weird outgoing, sexual, twisted personality,” she answers proudly. Hmmm… this should be a good interview.

“My name is Maddison Marie and I am originally from Sydney, Australia,” says our newest angel. “I now reside on the beautiful central coast about an hour away; [I] have lived here for about ten years now.” Where Maddison lives now, beaches abound. “We have so many that I cannot name them all.” The expansive selection of beaches creates the ideal scenario for isolating a quiet beach and adding variety to beach located photo shoots. “I plan to visit them all one day,” she says.

My smartphone rang its classic tone but I didn’t recognize the number. I answered and remained quiet as I listened to the tiny female voice utter, “Hello”. The caller hung up after I didn’t respond. My phone rang again and again I answered, repeating the silent treatment. The adorable voice uttered “hello” once again, however this time a little more firmly. Still I remained silent. Something about the voice stuck with me, there was a certain innocence to its caliber that begged me to find out who the caller was…

Representing more than one location, a daunting task to some, is natural to our newest angel. “My name is Yi,” she announces, “I am from Fuzhou, China. I currently live in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. I represent a few different cities such as New York, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Cherry Hill.” Claiming these cities impresses me, it shows a dominant trait. Her views change as her locations change, and as physiology dictates, soon her ‘point-of-view’ changes as well. At the moment of this interview, she is in Cherry Hill. “I see lots of trees and shopping centers,” she illustrates.

A girl of Irish descent who was blessed with adorable freckles comes by way of Stow, Ohio, a city within the Akron metro that offers incredible convenience. “Everything in Stow is about fifteen minutes from each other,” Meaghan Stewart says. “All the stores, the mall, your friends… everything is close together.” She is at work, on break taking care of this interview. “I see a ton of interesting things going on [at work],” Meaghan says. I can imagine. She tells me her family comes from Ireland and Scotland. “I got lucky though and I can actually get tan,” she humors. Funny.

A new year. A pretty girl sits alone at her computer. Toronto snow has settled just outside her window. She patiently answers a series of questions about her life and her passion for modeling. A story unfolds through her responses, a story of ambition and desire, hope and transition. We learn of a young girl, a tomboy who grew up living with her brother and father. Because of this, she carried concerns other than makeup and the popular regards of little girls. “All I wanted to do was play sports and have fun outside,” our angel recalls. The tomboy then transitions into a beautiful young woman, becoming a sexy model, her lady-parts more visible than any tomboy would regularly allow and pretty-girl charm proving irresistibly seductive.

A little bit Irish, a little bit German, our newest angel is Jenny Renee. “I’m currently in my living room doing this awesome interview for you fine people,” says the Fort Collins, CO model. Humph. Cute I must say. I like her immediately. Once “the outgoing kid”, Jenny admits she was also very competitive, two things she still needs to be as a model. The way she sees it though, being humble and thankful will be the true reasons she does succeed. “The first time I was published was very exciting for me,” she draws on an important memory. It’s her accomplishments that matter most, though her beauty can be an advantage. “On occasion yes,” she agrees, “but I don’t like it. I would prefer my hard work and dedication to get me noticed.”

Innocence doesn’t always completely fade with maturation; instead, a portion of it is replaced by a kind of natural corruption, the result of simply growing up. “I was a good kid until I hit about thirteen,” our angel admits sounding so much like me. “Then I rebelled. I was always into art, forms of self-expression, and music.” Our similarities continue as she points out, “One thing about myself, is that I always accepted other kids no matter what walk of life they came from. I never went through the ‘Mean Girls’ stage.”

“My name is Jacqueline and I’m from a small city in Manitoba, Canada called Brandon,” informs our present angel. “My nationality is Spanish and Ukrainian,” she further explains, her lineage and origins revealed. “My mother originally comes from Costa Rica, where I got to go live and go to school.” Living in Costa Rica, Jacqueline Heaven as she is called began to speak Spanish at age five. “My father’s side comes from the Ukraine; I didn't get to experience much of that culture.”

Living in the Windy City, an angel can spread her wings, catch a breeze and soar closer to her dreams. But that’s not all Chicago has to offer an angel. “I love that we have the big city but yet have Lake Michigan and a beach,” says Kelly Lynn. “I love living in a high rise building!” Originally from Michigan, she is Italian, Native American and German, an absolutely beautiful mix. Growing up with two brothers, Kelly admits she was a little tomboy. “I always hung out with all the boys,” she says reminding me of my big sister, “playing sports, riding go-karts and four-wheelers. I loved being a girl with all the boys until I liked one of them and that was a big no!”
