Casey Barker, a model from Lancaster, Ohio, joins us. It's a cool thing to have this lovely lady stop by Angels Playpen to tell us a little about herself. What could possibly be better? Casey describes herself as “Down to Earth. Adventurous. Classy.” It was my decision to have her limit her description to three simple words. As for what it is about her that both guys and girls like, she says it’s that she is” independent and caring.” Casey’s sign is Scorpio and just like her sign suggests she is, “Loyal to everyone, passionate to everything I care about, observant, dynamic and fiercely independent.” All these characteristics are great, reflecting all that she is, which make Casey a plus in my book.

As I sit at my laptop, perusing and pondering the various news titles on this quiet lovely July morning, joined by the beautiful Amy Markham, a sense of loss threatens and here in Angels Playpen, feelings of loss does not fit into our daily search for ‘heaven on earth.’ Maybe it’s the overwhelming lightweight verbiage, insubstantial rhetoric or superficial concerns that bother me. Whatever it is I don’t like it. Celebrity divorce, though admittedly briefly entertaining, fails to hold my attention. The world needs more substance, less fluff. More philosophy, less gossip. Then there is everything from Syrian torture centers to child abduction and animal abuse. More beauty, less ugly. More love, less hate. That’s where we come in. Trying to keep a healthy balance where serious matters are addressed, beauty is sought, dreams are fulfilled and personal pleasures are encouraged, unknowingly, Amy and I are friends of the same beauty based cause.

“Hi,” one word starts her introduction. “Thanks for stopping by my interview. My name is Nana Akimoto. Yes I am one-hundred percent Japanese, born and raised in Yokohama, just south of Tokyo.” Yokohama is Japan’s second largest city, the type of place where big ideas have a way of being born. Ideas that take a person from a dream-like state to a real-world existence.  Nana chased her dream from Japan to Canada, where she now lives. “I made my way to Canada when I was nineteen all by myself,” says our current angel. “I live in downtown Toronto at the moment. It was a big challenge for me because I didn’t speak any English. I get homesick a lot, but now I love Canada too much [laughs], so I decided to get permanent residence and now I can stay in Canada as long as I wish.”

The architecture of these interviews' foundations lay in the telling of a few tales. The honest response to inquiry, an angel inquisition if you will. We are rewarded with a better understanding of beauty and the souls of these precious angels who possess it. From your sexy girl-next-door to your refined and sophisticated beauty, stories of encouragement and words of wisdom build upon each other until we have a metaphysical metropolis of ideology and gorgeous philosophy. This ‘metaphysical metropolis’ would be policed by angels like Michelle Eastman whose beauty helps shape the world we live in and lends to an atmosphere of heaven on earth which is all we strive for in Angels Playpen.

Once again P!nk Elite’s Tiffany Habib’s influence in Ohio is felt. From Lancaster we have our newest angel Kayla Dee, whom after a bit of a mix up, has come to share her beauty with us. Originally from Columbus, Kayla moved to Lancaster about a year ago. She credits Tiffany with influencing her to model.  “She is internationally published and I look up to her for her accomplishments in the modeling industry,” says Kayla. It is an admirable thing when a person can cite their real world influences with such obvious endearment.

Writing has always been a multi-dimensional release for me. From songs that depict raw emotion to stories that relate to the human soul, writing has a cathartic affect that soothes my restless soul. Tattooed Brookie, a model from Baltimore, Maryland, is a closet writer as well. At anytime she can be found doodling intimate thoughts, finding a permanent place for these words of self-expression. “I’ve been writing poems, songs, devotionals and just random stuff since I was nine,” discloses the inked up angel. “I love to capture things that inspire me with a pen and paper.” Apparently her love of writing isn’t limited to pen and paper, keyboard and screen. Just look at her and see she is scribed about her body like graffiti to a wall.

“My biggest love is traveling,” the beautiful Pamela Jean Noble tells me, touching on one of my most enamored subjects. For I too love to travel. Whether it’s just a walk or drive, an exotic vacation or even if it’s only mental. Remaining in one place too long acts upon my mind and body like a disease. Diminishing my spirit; whether mental and physical, any semblance of restriction is compensated for, if not overly so. I love the idea of a fluid existence, nothing of note can fasten me with any permanence, though if loved I always return. I do have my favorite haunts. “Anywhere I have never been is my new favorite,” she says. Cute, I think to myself as I type out these consonants and vowels. I wish I’d thought to express myself the same.

Well. The time has come for our newest angel to introduce herself. “My name is McKenna Marie Ashenbremer and I’m from Saint Louis, Missouri,” she says rather energetically, it’s all in her words. We are of course proud to have such an angel amongst angels. Fresh and delightfully spirited, she is most welcome here in Angels Playpen. A jokster, her candor and wit are the type of baggage we like our angels to have. “I like to look at the funny side of everything.” This shows a positive nature, a refreshingly upbeat disposition that should make her the life of any party, especially one where she gets to dance, provocatively I hope, all night long.

A quick walk to a much loved store.  A trip through center city. Maybe a stop at Cheesecake Factory, her favorite restaurant. She isn’t a picky girl but she knows what she likes. One thing she doesn’t like is to see the homeless that pepper the sidewalks. If she should happen to pass a Forever 21 nearby, a chance to shop at her favorite clothing store would push her closer to heaven on earth. She jokingly declares her heaven on earth to be Nutella. Truth is heaven on earth for this angel would be a world that’s safe for her and her friends. A safe world, where she and her friends can ride around reminiscing over old times listening to Destiny’s Child.  I guess I should tell you her name now… Danielle Gilman.

She is tough. It's in her eyes. Maybe it’s her confidence that gives the aura of quite the hard exterior. In any case, I like it. Never did like a soft girl. Any girl that catches my fancy needs to be intelligent and able to stand up for herself. “Men tell me it’s great to have a woman who has a strong mind,” Jaison Nicole says of what guys admire then she adds, “and women express its great to see a woman embrace who they are.” It’s takes a certain amount of toughness to be motivated by the negative things that surround you. “It pushes me to want more and do better.” I operate similarly, opposition makes me stronger. It’s something lifting weights has taught me.

There was something about her body language that spoke to me. And so an interview request was sent. When the time came and I happened across her reply email stating yes she would grant us the interview, the accompanying excitement could be barely be contained. I couldn’t wait to exchange questions and answers, impatience threatened to derail any sort of productivity. When the wait was finally over and I sat at my laptop reviewing the interview, I felt… proud. This angel belonged with us such as few others before. Meet Sabrina Watts.
