In Las Vegas at the moment, our angel engages us as she looks out her hotel window, thoughtfully watching the scene below. The legendary Las Vegas Strip provides the view and here our interview commences. “My name is Jessie Shannon,” she begins, “and I am from the Metro Detroit area in Michigan.” She is certainly a striking woman to say the least, almost impossible to ignore and easily one of the sexiest models in the game. We in Angels Playpen welcome her, and appreciate the chance to learn a little bit about the heavenly beauty.

From a small town in Ohio, a rather mysterious angel comes our way, seen through the eyes of a trusted photographer, Chris Epp of Epphects Media. Her name is Kalyn Lea and she still lives in the small town that birthed her. “Everyone is extremely laid back, everyone knows everyone,” she says as the best thing about her town. “I love the country life.”

As she watches Two and a Half Men in her apartment, Aurora takes the time to answer some questions for what she affectionately calls an “interesting interview.” This helps paint a picture of the type of mood she is in as she tells us a little about herself. “Is this what you meant?” she asks teasingly when she describes her current surroundings. Yes. It’s exactly what I meant. I wanted to be sure she was as focused on this exchange of words as I. For me, End of Watch, a frenetic film with Jake Gyllenhal, playing as I finish off this “interesting interview”.

Thanksgiving. Early morning. A pervasive inebriation persists. Last night I may have celebrated too hard but it’s equal to the work I do; it’s so very hard to question beautiful angels like Barbara Desiree Kovach and get the answers needed to tell a very human story. Outward beauty recognized, I hope nothing more than to uncover whatever beauty may lie inward. “Confidence,” my angel of the moment suggests about beauty. “If you think you’re beautiful and can carry yourself with poise,” she says, “you are beautiful. I mean everyone has something beautiful about them.”

Some say I have a gift for articulation, some say the gift of insight, with a very dear friend and past love once telling me my gift was the ability to see the best in any situation. Funny how all these gifts were noticed by women. I am on a search for my ‘Hidden Treasure’, a trait not readily apparent or is outwardly a surprise. “Hmmm,” our newest angel says pondering her own hidden treasure. “Well I sometimes have the sense of humor of a man… embarrassing but true.” A laugh escapes as punctuation to her statement. In contrast some say I have a gift with women. Never knew why but I certainly would not be here, rare best male friends excluded, without the women in my life. The is no 'Heaven on Earth' for me without my angels. Bless them all.

“Right now I am just chilling in my cute little apartment watching CNN about the election,” our current angel says giving a screenshot of her current set of conditions. I picture the blonde, perched, feet up with cute socks, eyes fixed intently on the television screen. I decide to let her introduce herself. “Hi,” she says, “I am Laura Elisabeth Moro and I’m from Shreveport, La.” Her guilty pleasure is ‘red velvet cake’, the only thing I can see missing from this picture.

Many of us have fears, fears that we have to conquer or accept. Please excuse the somber tone of the words as they come together, expressing thoughts of mine and those of the angels I interview. My biggest fear is of not living up to my full potential; therefore I am unafraid trying things most wouldn’t. For our current angel, Olivia Nguyen, her biggest fear is of losing those that she loves most. “I’d be a wreck,” she says. I have been losing those closest to me for a very long time which acclimated me to the pain of burying a loved one so early that a fear never developed. Instead, a desire to live life to its fullest festered and fear has become nothing more than a precursor to action.

From a small town in western Massachusetts, we have Aubrey. “I have lived here all my life,” she mentions offhandedly. I sit in a public library, city, and state I will keep secret. Aubrey is with me, her essence the reason for these words. Aubrey loves traveling, as do I. A trip is always an adventure for me, however random or planned they may be. “By far the best thing about my city is that everything is only an hour or so away,” Aubrey talks more of the town in which she resides. “The best ski resorts, some awesome beaches, Vermont in the fall is amazing. There is always something right around the corner to be exploring and doing!”

She never leaves home without mascara, lip gloss, money, keys, and perfume. This, to me, signifies her concern with appearance, odor, and access. The simple joy of being alive makes her a kindred spirit. “[You] never know when it’s your time to go so I live each to its fullest,” Cavel, the Trinidadian beauty living in Bowie, Maryland tells me. Passionate about raising her daughter, family and achieving success, the flip-side of dedication is a developing fear of failure. “Not being there for my daughter and not being successful for her,” are the biggest fears she knows, not surprising given where her passions lie.

She claims Morgantown, West Virginia, as her hometown. She does this mostly out of a sense of nostalgia. “I’ve lived there the longest and it has my heart,” Cara Parrish says. “I spent my youth jumping from tiny country town to tiny country town throughout West Virginia. I don’t live anywhere in particular right now. I lead a gypsy life.” Acting whenever possible, participating in various photo shoots, traveling and hosting events are pretty much all she does. “The best thing about the town I claim is that Morgantown is a completely unique place. It’s a college town but not in the way most places are college towns. Morgantown is completely consumed by its university and students which are predominantly from other states. Being a ‘townie’ makes you a rare commodity of sorts.”
