Another one of those nights, ending a day where the clouds were out to play and the sun acted as chaperon, studiously standing watch over its billowy charges. They danced in the wind; huddled together to block the sun’s rays then broke apart letting the rays slip through to the earth below. In L.A. where the weather is the best thing about living there, as stated by our current angel, Nicole Sjoberg, I imagine days playing out and ending in a similar fashion regularly. It’s nights like these, the breeze is light and cool, its dark out but oddly illuminated, where you want to do more than just live, you want to ‘be’. You want to be more than just alive; you want the chance to just be… you.

The rain brought with it a measure of relief, the last few days the sun acted as if it had a score to settle with New York. New developments in life added to the heat, firing me up over possibilities of the future. I was certainly at a point in my life of immense consideration and contemplation, facing life-changing decisions that up till recently didn’t exist. Nevertheless I am joyful; apprehension at the unknown only feeds my daring spirit. I am joined by an angel who, by all accounts is excited about the future as well. “I am in a happy place,” our current angel Vendella states. “I feel fulfilled with my career and I feel like I am making all the right choices to ensure my success in the future.”

“Well,” Eliza Jeffers begins thoughtfully, “since I was little my mother and I were approached quite a bit about having me try out but we never perused it. I took photography and film and loved it while in school. We had to do portraits and one of my friends asked me to be her model; I did and posted the photos.  After that people have been contacting me. I never expected to go anywhere with it. I didn’t officially start modeling until about eight months ago and my first official shoot landed me in a magazine, since then I have been published nine times in print magazine and have been chosen to be a cover model three times.” Eliza also found herself published on numerous website, found agency representation and joined a few promotional modeling groups. “I also have been given the opportunity to model for a few clothing lines,” she adds. “I am very blessed to have been given all these experiences so far. My journey seems to be just beginning.”

A young angel, still maturing, adulthood a new phenomena admits to us that she still has some growing up to do. Here in Angels Playpen, growth is essential, understanding and enlightenment are almost mutually exclusive for us which definitively leads to nirvana. “Wanna hear my name?” she asks proudly. “It’s Wild Pony,” she answers with a laugh. There is a story to the name, a history more importantly. “My mom gave me that [name] because I was so wild when I was little, which hasn’t changed; and Pony, for my love of animals.” At the age of eighteen, she is still developing as a young woman, “but them past eighteen years,” she says, “I was the wild-child out of my parent’s three kids.”

As I sit in my newest hideout, a coffee shop that literally rocks, Rock n Joe’s; my laptop suspended above and to the right of my lap, sitting on the arm of my chair and the slightly weakened table next to me. Sarah Lowry, a Grove City, Ohio model and our current angel of subject joins me to talk of life, passion and career. These things are important in the telling of her story, how she came to be an angel sharing with us intimate details of her heavenly nature; beauty and ambition.

In a recently opened Café V, a coffee shop that offers vegetarian cuisine, seated is the beautiful Shonda Lauralee Mackey from Florence, Colorado. Same as in the pages of Angels Playpen, beauty is surrounded by art. Artists converse, unquestionably questioning everything their eyes and minds witness, accepting the truth at some point which leads a depth most people never reach. It’s what makes an artist an artist. English and French Canadian, the picture of her as she sits in that Grand Junction coffee shop paints itself as she runs through our intimate interview.

The texts were funny; this angel had wings that made her fly. Not in the literal sense but in reference to her personality and candor; she could fly off with the comments. Full of double meanings and innuendos, her phrases and technological utterances were bold and fearless. I enjoyed this immensely. We are all people here; words mean nothing but their definitions until we allow ourselves to feel something. And she made me feel… something. Ha. Incredibly sexy, it was hard… to believe it was she whom sent these interesting combinations of words and rhetoric. This is her interview.

How does one forget an angel as pretty as Chelsie Aryn Miller? I don’t know how but I did. Blame it on my ADHD; blame it on my crazy schedule, blame it on whatever reason comes to mind but there is no real excuse for forgetting the chance to get to know a beauty like Chelsie. I feel like a fool… still here we are. But the interview is of a Christmas past, but who she is hasn’t changed. It is my fault for telling this tale after so much time has passed. I suspect the essence of an angel rarely changes.

Pretty pictures, beautiful angels, amazing design all appear within Angels Playpen, visually intoxicating us into an addiction. Still these words shared between two minds carry the most potential to resonate in a much more lasting manner. We, whether wittingly or not, create an alternate reality, nothing truly imagined so it’s still the real world, just a little more focused. We provide our viewers with something they can actually read, a short story perhaps. Our angel now, Hailey Solewin, is a self-admitted avid consumer of script and prose. “I am a huge reader,” she says righteously, “it’s one of my biggest pastimes and hobbies.” Between the lines written here in Angels Playpen we’ll gleam a little more than words can adequately communicate.

When you have ambition and become fearless in the pursuit of your dreams, things can get lonely out on the road to success and to further compound the issue, the world can be downright negative at times. “Even though there is so much negativity in the world,” Alexus Untied begins talking of her own personal circumstances; “the people on my life bring me joy daily. They are very supportive and I always have someone to go to for anything.” It’s a blessing to have such a support system; so many of us artists do not. It's the people that make up your inner circle that you eventually come to rely on for strength and having people who genuinely wish to see you succeed is amazing.

With her birthday fast approaching, this interview feels a bit harried, her request to have it complete before it arrives adds an element of suspense. Taylor Noelle is a Dutch, German and Irish angel from Syracuse, New York. So this is a celebration of all that she is, the experiences that made her, the thoughts that consume her, and the desires that drive her. Her birthday is April 9th, perhaps a day that could one day become a holiday to us all. If I could treat her to a trip anywhere of her choosing, I would. Maybe I should find out where she’d choose first…  “Lake Hillier,” she responds, “the famous pink lake in Australia.”
